Put your hands together for Acura's super SUV duo! U.S. News & World Report this month honored the 2014 Acura MDX with the title of "Best Luxury 3-Row SUV for the Money" and the 2014 RDX with "Best Luxury Compact SUV for the Money". Jeff Conrad, vice president and general manager of Acura sales, says, "The MDX and RDX continue to win accolades for their outstanding combination of Exhilarating performance, great fuel efficiency, and outstanding value on a luxury scale. With the five-passenger RDX and new seven-passenger MDX, Acura has unquestionably two of the most competitive luxury SUVs in the market."
When shopping for a new car, most buyers want a good value. To some people, that means giving up on a car that has the performance, features and comfort they want for a car that they think will be a better fit for their budget in the long run.
It's important to realize, though, that a bad car with a rock-bottom price is no bargain. A low up-front price can hide high operating costs down the line. Also, as much time as people spend in their cars, getting a car that's not quite right, even if the price is right, can quickly wear on most owners.
The Best Cars for the Money awards cover 21 different automotive categories, so it's easy to find a great car that's also a great value and works for your lifestyle. If you're in the market for a new car, truck or SUV, the 2014 Best Cars for the Money award winners make excellent choices.
The 2014 Best Cars for the Money awards highlight cars that are great values and great cars to own. To find the award winners, we combined the average price paid from TrueCar.com and five-year total cost of ownership data from Vincentric, LLC with the U.S. News Best Cars rankings data. The U.S. News rankings are based on the opinion of the automotive press about a car's performance, interior features and interior comfort, combined with reliability and safety ratings. To pick its winners U.S. News considers safety, reliability, expert opinion, MSRP, and retained value.
